Year 7 & 8 Coordinator’s Message

Dear parents and students,

As term two draws to a close, I am sure that our students are looking forward to a much-needed break. This term has certainly been a very busy and productive one for our students, with a variety of events and challenges. At the start of the term, all year 7 students took part in the NAPLAN tests, which assessed their skills in literacy and numeracy. We trust that given our year 7 students’ dedication to their studies that their results this year will be commendable.

This term, we also celebrated the holy month of Ramadan which saw our students fasting, engaging in self-reflection and exploring themes such as charity and empathy for others. During this time, our years 7 and 8 students attended numerous excursions and interschool sporting activities in which they proudly represented our school.

Next term, as our cold and wet winter continues, it is important to remind students to keep warm by wearing their full school winter uniform. This means that for next term, the school blazer is compulsory and must be warn to and from school each day. On particularly cold days, students may choose to keep warm by wearing the school jumper under their blazer as an additional layer and we have school beanies and scarves available for purchase also. Please remember, no non-uniform items will be permitted at school, this includes accessories such as bags, scarves and hats.

I wish all of our year 7 and 8 students a safe and relaxing mid-year break.

Warm Regards,
Mr. Michael Kapadia.
